Claudio Sapienza

Claudio Sapienza is an Italian artist and educator from Catania, Sicily, whose practice is rooted in a deep connection with nature. Inspired by Land Art, Cosmo Art and Sicily’s volcanic landscape, he brings together painting, photography, objects and installations. He studied painting and visual arts, has exhibited in Italy and internationally, and has received several art awards. At ORIGIN 01, he presents Dal cuore di un albero, a work based on the imprint of a tree trunk’s cross-section. Its growth rings, cracks and crater-like hollows evoke time, origins and the creative power of nature. The work also pays tribute to the artist’s native landscape at the foot of Mount Etna.
